JPMorgan Chase in Glasgow is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build a trusted Global KYC and Risk Data Platform within Corporate Technology. You will lead cross-functional teams delivering secure, scalable data solutions using Spark/PySpark, Databricks, Snowflake, and modern data tooling.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions across multiple teams, and collaborate with senior leaders to deliver high-impact results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development and operations at enterprise scale.
• Expertise in Python and/or PySpark and Spark ecosystem.
• Cloud-native experience across AWS/Azure/GCP and data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience with large-scale data processing, microservices, Kafka, Redis, and observability tools.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data lakes, and data governance.
• Ability to present to senior leadership and drive inclusive teamwork.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical mindset, and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with modern data platforms and LLM orchestration frameworks is a plus.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability at enterprise scale
• Expertise in Python and/or PySpark
• Advanced knowledge of software application development and technical processes, with depth in disciplines such as cloud, AI/ML, or data engineering
• Experience in large-scale data processing, microservices, API design, Kafka, Redis, MemCached, observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana), and orchestration frameworks (Airflow, Temporal)
• Advanced working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, vector stores, data lake architectures, and data governance
• Practical cloud-native experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Ability to present and communicate effectively with senior leaders and executives
• Commitment to inclusive, collaborative teamwork
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
