Location: Barnard Castle, UK

Overview

Lead the Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) Team at Barnard Castle, overseeing a portfolio including New Product Introduction, sterile manufacturing, clean liquids, and dermatological products. Manage product lifecycle improvements, focusing on performance, delivery, capability, development, and talent management to meet business goals.

This role involves developing technical strategy, aligning with central teams, and leading a team of technical experts to build capability and future leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ownership of core technical processes such as Product Lifecycle Management, NPI, Scale-Up, and Technical Transfer.
  2. Support site initiatives as a member of the leadership team, contributing to strategic direction and cross-functional leadership.
  3. Manage product lifecycle activities, including process/yield improvements and regulatory compliance, and champion strategic projects.
  4. Oversee Continued Process Verification activities for site products.
  5. Provide technical leadership to resolve issues impacting supply and product performance, utilizing RCA and CAPA tools.
  6. Participate in the GSK MSAT community, contributing to technical discussions and strategies.
  7. Proactively manage talent, including succession planning and capability development within the team.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in biopharmaceutical process development, project management, and process transfer.
  • Leadership experience in a biopharmaceutical environment for over 5 years.
  • Experience with biopharmaceutical product registration, preferably with FDA and/or EMEA.
  • Knowledge of GMP, ICH Guidelines, and validation practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
