Job Title: Lead Site Fitter

Are you experienced with mechanical work? Can you differentiate a centrifugal pump from a cup of tea at 50 yards? Do you approach mechanical problems proactively, equipped with wrenches and allen keys?

If yes, we have the perfect opportunity for you...

We are seeking a Lead Site Fitter to join a small, dedicated team covering water treatment and mechanical maintenance sites across the Severn Trent region. This role offers a chance to lead projects from the front, operating from a fully equipped van (no fluffy dice yet).

What’s the job?
  1. Travel between sites with your co-fitter, working on pumps, pipework, and rotating machinery within the water industry.
  2. Replace worn equipment with new or refurbished parts.
  3. Remove equipment for overhaul at the workshop when necessary.
  4. Navigate puddles, confined spaces, and ladders while adhering to health & safety standards.
  5. Represent the company professionally on site, demonstrating practicality and good interpersonal skills.
What you’ll need:
  • Mechanical expertise and hands-on fitting experience.
  • Experience working on-site, preferably in water-related projects.
  • Leadership confidence combined with teamwork skills.
  • A full UK driving license (van provided).
  • Basic computer skills to record work activities.
  • Confined space and working at height tickets are advantageous; training can be provided if needed.
What’s in it for you?
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • 39-hour workweek with overtime opportunities.
  • Pension scheme for your future.
  • Company van shared with your teammate.
  • Supportive training and development opportunities.
