Job summary

NEBOSH is seeking a Technical Writer to develop content for our health and safety publications. You will produce course books, materials and articles, working with the wider product development team to shape resources that improve learner outcomes.

The role involves collaborating with specialists, delivering training where needed, and contributing to publication-ready content while operating in a hybrid role across the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified OSH practitioner with practical workplace experience.
• Knowledge of GB health, safety and environmental law.
• Experience in technical writing and publication of articles/books.
• Experience developing learning materials is desirable.
• Positive attitude to change and creative mindset.
• Ideally hold a driving license and willingness to travel UK for meetings.

What you will be doing:

The role is responsible for developing content for NEBOSH products, including course books and course materials, other new NEBOSH publications, presentations and articles.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience.

• Be a qualified occupational safety and health (OSH) practitioner, with practical experience in applying OSH principles in the workplace
• Knowledge of the environment NEBOSH operates in
• Knowledge of NEBOSH products and services
• Understanding of GB health, safety and environmental law and policy
• Demonstrated experience of technical writing, such as authorship of published articles, books or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communications

Key skills and attributes for the job:

• Hold the NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals or equivalent level health and safety qualification (for example, NVQ) or an equivalent level specialist qualification in areas such as environmental management, fire or construction
• Ability to write to a high standard with experience of writing content related to health and safety or other specialist areas, such as environmental management, fire or construction
• Experience in working collaboratively with other specialists to develop publication-ready content is preferred
• Experience in developing learning materials is desirable but not essential
• Have a positive attitude to change and the ability to be creative
• Ideally hold a current driving license and / or be willing to use public transport to attend meetings throughout the UK when required
• Experience of delivering training and/or presenting would also be advantageous

We have adopted a hybrid working environment which allows you to work remotely as well as from the NEBOSH offices in Leicestershire (close to Fosse Park and M1).
