Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SENCO for a two-form entry Primary School in Mitcham, Merton. The role focuses on leading SEND provision, coordinating EHCPs, and supporting inclusive teaching and learning across the school.

The successful candidate will have QTS or equivalent, NASENCO, and at least two years in a Primary School with SEND experience, plus safeguarding training. The position runs from September 2026 to July 2027, with a daily rate from £215 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS or equivalent
• Must have NASENCO qualification or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Primary School
• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation
• Experience managing EHCPs and coordinating support for diverse needs
• Proven collaborative working with staff, parents, and external professionals
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (within the last year)

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
• Manage EHCP processes and annual reviews
• Liaise with staff, parents and external agencies
• Monitor pupil progress and adapt inclusive teaching practices
• Support school-wide SEND implementation and staff training
