Encord is seeking a hands-on security lead to own the company security programme. You will manage access controls, laptop protection, and vet AI tools, ensuring data handling aligns with audits and standards.
With 7–8 years in organisational security, you will have implemented SSO and Mac device management (MDM) and be able to explain controls clearly to staff to keep security practical.
This is a hands-on security job that also owns the whole company security programme. The work covers who can log in and how, protecting laptops, vetting SaaS and AI tools, and acting as the technical owner for ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits. A strong candidate has around 7 to 8 years in organisation security, has rolled out single sign-on and device management on Macs, and can explain controls in a way that keeps staff on side.
AI tools now spread through a company faster than anyone can review them, so a big part of the job is deciding which ones are safe and what data may go into them. Attackers also use AI for convincing fake voices, videos and emails aimed at executives, which makes verification habits more important. Judgement, trust and getting people to follow sensible rules stay human work, even as tooling takes over routine checks.
The role offers close exposure to how an AI data company handles sensitive customer data, including reviews of AI vendors and rules for AI tool use. Someone could build relevant experience by drafting an approved AI tool list, running a small vendor review of an AI provider, or writing a short guide on spotting deepfake requests. Since the company serves robotics and vehicle teams, understanding how large image and video datasets are protected would be a useful area to study.
