Job summary

Searchability in Farnborough, UK is seeking a Lead Security Architect to lead secure delivery for internal and MOD programmes, collaborating with Software Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Agile and Cyber Security teams.

The role requires SC clearance and eligibility for DV, with a strong background in defence/security, designing secure architectures, risk management, and producing security documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Security Architecture experience within Defence, Government or similarly secure environments.
• Experience conducting cyber security risk management using methodologies such as NIST 800-53.
• Knowledge of secure-by-design principles and security controls across networks, endpoints and cryptography.
• Experience producing security documentation, risk assessments, policies, test plans and assurance artefacts.

Responsibilities

THE LEAD SECURITY ARCHITECT ROLE:

As Lead Security Architect, you will support the secure delivery of internal and MOD programmes, working closely with Software Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, Agile and Cyber Security teams.

You will develop proportionate security architectures, provide strategic direction on security projects, conduct risk management activities and design solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities. You will also produce security and assurance documentation to support MOD requirements and secure-by-design delivery.

LEAD SECURITY ARCHITECT ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong Security Architecture experience within Defence, Government or similarly secure environments
• Experience conducting cyber security risk management using recognised methodologies such as NIST 800-53
• Strong understanding of secure-by-design principles
• Ability to design and select security controls across networks, endpoints, cryptography, authentication and authorisation
• Experience producing security documentation, risk assessments, policies, test plans and assurance artefacts
• Knowledge of MOD security requirements, ideally including JSP 604 and JSP 453
• Experience working with technical engineering teams across cloud, infrastructure or DevSecOps environments
• Government security clearance, recently held clearance, or eligibility and willingness to undergo vetting
