As a Lead Scientist in this lab-based role you will deliver technical solutions for the next generation purification processes that meet industry demands. You will design, plan and execute studies in support of technology or process/product development projects with well-defined scopes and timelines. Analyse study data to drive conclusions and maintain Lonza as the lead supplier.

Key responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of advanced primary recovery strategies

Assess novel primary recovery technologies at Laboratory and Pilot scale

Design, develop and optimize scalable primary recovery processes and novel affinity purification methods

Assess ligands and tag technologies for novel affinity capture steps

Study ligand-protein interactions through in-silico and biophysical methods

Develop and refine the process conditions for bespoke affinity capture methods

Independently designs studies, collate, evaluate/analyzeand interpret complex data sets to achieve project targets

Write and execute detailed study plans with problem statements, success criteria and timelines

Author high quality technical reports and publications with scientifically supported conclusions and recommendations

Key requirements:

Bachelor's or master's degree in the field of biotechnology, chemistry or chemical engineering

Demonstrable experience in working in a laboratory environment

Experience in the primary recovery area such as depth filtration, centrifugation process development, novel affinity capture methods for mAb and Non-Mab (NMF) products

Experience in writing scientific technical reports and publications
