Job summary

King's Lynn Academy seeks a highly organised Lead Science Technician to lead technical support across the Science Department and ensure laboratories are prepared, safe and well-equipped for engaging lessons.

You will work closely with teachers, provide technical oversight for practical activities, and manage resources, procurement and technical systems to support outstanding teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• English and Maths qualifications to Level 2 (GCSE A-C) or equivalent.
• NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification in relevant scientific or technical discipline.
• Significant experience of working as a Science Technician.
• Experience supervising, coordinating or leading the work of others.
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and laboratory management including the safe handling of chemicals and biological materials.
• CLEAPSS accredited training and/or IOSH qualification are desirable.
• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and leadership for practical activities across the Science Department.
