Job summary

Aspire People Limited is partnering with a large academy to recruit a Senior Science Technician in Kensington & Chelsea. You will lead practical delivery across Biology, Chemistry and Physics from KS3 to A Level and manage a small team of technicians.

The role involves delivering A-Level biology and other practicals, preparing equipment, supporting teachers, and caring for department animals in a busy, high-achieving science department.

Qualifications

• Science-related degree or A-Level (or equivalent) in lab science.
• Experience as Senior Science Technician or ready to step up is essential.
• Confident delivering A-Level Biology/ Chemistry practicals.
• Experience leading, training or mentoring junior colleagues.
• Familiarity with Lablogger is desirable.
• Strong understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures (CLEAPSS).
• Positive, solutions-focused team player who is reliable and approachable.
• Comfortable with day-to-day care of the department's animals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support practical delivery across Biology, Chemistry and Physics from KS3 to A Level.
• Lead and train a small team of technicians (two technicians).
• Deliver A-Level Biology practicals and KS3/KS4 required practicals.
• Prepare, set up and clear away equipment for practical lessons across all science subjects.
• Support teaching staff during practicals and demonstrations.
• Care for the department's small animals.
• Maintain labs, prep rooms and storage areas to high safety standards.
