Job description

Lead Scala Engineer | HYBRID (London 2 days a week) | Up to £105,000 | 12.5% BONUS

We are delighted to be partnered with a global financial services organisation seeking an experienced senior software engineer to join their innovative team working on exciting greenfield projects within financial services.

You will join a diverse, cross-functional team passionate about all things tech.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guide program initiatives in engineering excellence, learning, and development.
2. Build, deliver, and maintain multiple components of the platform.
3. Advise on developing highly resilient and future-proof solutions.
4. Research and propose new projects for the Equities platform.
5. Resolve complex problems through evaluation of architectures, business processes, and industry standards.

Key Requirements:

1. 5+ years of advanced Scala programming experience.
2. Strong understanding of Scala, including Akka, Play Framework, and Cats/Scalaz.
3. Experience with Domain-Driven Design and event-driven architecture.
4. Experience building and maintaining DevOps pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
5. Knowledge of shift-left testing principles and frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, Gherkin, PACT, TestContainers.
6. Familiarity with eventing and messaging infrastructure like Kafka and MQ.
7. Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
8. A desire to learn, improve, and innovate with high development standards.
