Job description

It’s an exciting time to join the Digital team here at AXA Health, with significant investment planned in all UK&I businesses to transform and deliver new digital services to our customers; and to streamline and automate our business processes.

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Test Engineer to join our Engineering team, to help with the delivery of our digital roadmap, develop our people and capabilities, and support our Engineering strategy to drive improvements across all teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a product-led operating model. In this model, all our teams align with value streams, which means that we have the necessary resources to take an idea from conception to completion with minimal handoffs. Our current focus is on developing our Single Digital Platform, based on Salesforce, involving a significant .NET estate, Azure services, and React frontend web applications.

As a Lead Salesforce Test Engineer, you will learn about recent technology trends and influence the organisation to make informed choices. At AXA, we prioritize working smart and empower our employees to find a balance between working from home and the office that suits them, their team, and our customers. From now until September 2025, you will work away from home at least 40% of the time, which could include working from local offices in Leeds, Middlesbrough, Bristol, Tunbridge Wells, Bournemouth, or travelling for business. Flexible working arrangements are also available and can be discussed with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

1. Act as a line manager, supervising and guiding a team of test engineers, sharing best practices in manual and exploratory testing in complex end-to-end environments on our Salesforce Platform.
2. Oversee testing activities within a team responsible for frequent code deployments and delivering business value to production.
3. Be 'hands-on' and uplift existing capabilities, focusing on test automation.
4. Lead the technical design, implementation, and maintenance of test automation projects within a CI/CD environment.

What you’ll bring:

• Hands-on experience with Salesforce testing, including leadership roles such as Test Engineer Lead or Senior SDET.
• Deep understanding of testing principles, methodologies, and the SDLC.
• Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools for designing and implementing automation suites.
• Experience with Provar or Copado Robotics Testing (CRT) is advantageous.
• Experience with load testing and reporting results.
• Extensive manual testing experience, with a focus on automation for success.
• Proven ability to implement process improvements to enhance testing efficiency.

Eligibility to work in the UK is a precondition for employment.
