New Horizons Primary School is seeking a knowledgeable and committed Designated Safeguarding Lead to lead safeguarding and child protection across the school, advising colleagues and ensuring timely support for children and families.

You will represent the school at multi-agency meetings, work with staff to identify needs, provide safeguarding guidance, and contribute to audits and policy development within the Thinking Schools Academy Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, young people and families and dealing with barriers to education.
• Knowledge, experience and understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection issues.
• The ability to work as part of a team, and collaboratively with multi-agency colleagues while applying confidentiality.
• Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Lead safeguarding responses and referrals to children's social care, the police and other services.
• Represent the school at child protection and multi-agency meetings, sharing information professionally and following through on actions.
• Work with pupils and families to identify needs, coordinate early help and access appropriate support.
• Provide staff with advice and guidance to help them recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns.
• Support online safety and responses to concerns involving child-on-child abuse.
• Review safeguarding policies with the Trust Safeguarding Lead and support staff awareness of policies, procedures and training.
• Contribute to safeguarding audits and prepare termly reports for senior leaders to support improvement.
