Job summary

City of Derby Academy seeks a compassionate Child Protection Officer to lead safeguarding practice, systems, and compliance. You will work with school leaders and the DSL to strengthen processes and drive continuous improvement.

You will identify concerns, support complex cases, coordinate with families and external agencies, and ensure all safeguarding activity is recorded and acted upon. Your role helps deliver consistent, high-quality safeguarding across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, dedicated and proactive safeguarding professional.
• Strong understanding of child protection legislation and procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate, high-quality records and manage sensitive cases.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key member of the safeguarding team.
• Identify, assess and respond to safeguarding and welfare concerns.
• Manage and support complex safeguarding cases with families and external agencies.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are recorded, tracked and acted upon.
