Project Risk Engineer – Remote - £45,196 - £61,833

About the role:

As a Lead Risk Engineer in our gas construction team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of major gas infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for developing project risk profiles, facilitating risk workshops, performing quantitative Risk Analysis, and providing regular risk reports to project stakeholders.

This position will report directly to the Senior Risk Engineer. You will possess a strong understanding of risk management methodologies and knowledge of relevant industry standards. You will challenge the available project details and obtain the relevant missing information to develop assumptions, track progress, and manage governance reviews and sign-offs.

Essentials:
  • Project risk management experience in the utilities industry, with strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles or project lifecycle.
  • Ability to interpret technical and cost information; a Full UK driving license is required.
  • Experience in facilitating risk workshops and gathering project data.
  • Experience in Quantitative Risk Assessments.
  • Ability to interpret and generate risk reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent experience in risk management in construction projects.
  • Proven experience in project risk assessment, preferably within the utilities, gas construction, or energy industry.
  • Understanding of project management principles and lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Location preference: Living in or around North & Scotland is advantageous.
