Job summary

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

  • Lead the delivery of a wide range of respiratory and sleep diagnostics, including spirometry, lung function testing, CPET, and bronchial provocation studies.
  • Supervise and develop a team of respiratory physiologists, ensuring high standards of clinical practice and continuous professional development.
  • Oversee equipment calibration, stock control, and service scheduling to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Collaborate with consultants, clinical teams, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless patient journey from referral to results.
  • Support governance, quality assurance, and service audits, ensuring compliance with CQC and hospital standards.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and business case preparation to support future growth.
  • Deputise for the Centre Manager and represent the department in multidisciplinary meetings and operational forums.

Key Skills / Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or equivalent specialist training.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience of working in a Clinical Respiratory Physiology Department
  • Registration with AHCS or equivalent; membership of ARTP or ERS desirable.
  • Proven leadership and team supervision experience.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and clinical systems; experience with private healthcare delivery is a plus.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Passionate about respiratory medicine and committed to delivering outstanding patient care.
