Job summary

Lancashire County Council's Children’s Residential Service is expanding, with Senior Residential Child Care Workers needed in Burnley, Accrington, Nelson, and Haslingden. The role is permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week.

The salary ranges from £33,119 to £37,563 per annum, with enhancements for shift work, weekends and sleep-in duties. You will lead a team, support young people with complex needs, and contribute to safeguarding and care planning processes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in children’s social care or residential settings.
• QCF Level 4 or NVQ Level 3/4 (or equivalent) required.
• Ability to lead shifts and supervise staff as Team Leader.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of children’s legislation.
• Resilient, compassionate and committed to improving outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of RCCWs and act as shift leader.
• Champion care, safety and development of children with complex needs.
• Support and implement care plans, education plans, and emotional wellbeing strategies.
• Mentor staff and promote high standards of practice.
• Contribute to safeguarding, inspections and care planning processes.
