Located in London, our multicultural team draws inspiration from the rich culture and history of one of the world's most diverse cities.

We are seeking an exceptionally talented Lead Rendering Programmer to join our team for an upcoming unannounced AAA title.

This role involves leading a team of expert rendering programmers to extend and optimize our engine, achieve the artistic vision set by the Art Director, ensure efficient content creation pipelines, and maintain high game performance.

You will report to the Engine Code Director and collaborate with other code and art leads to develop effective solutions, resolve bottlenecks, and push the boundaries of rendering technology in gaming. Your daily responsibilities include managing the team, enforcing project vision, conducting reviews, providing feedback, and exemplifying best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Engine Code Director, Art Director, and other leads to understand and communicate their vision to your team.
  • Support your team through regular one-on-ones, development discussions, and performance reviews.
  • Mentor your team, emphasizing project and company goals, providing feedback, and fostering growth.
  • Manage the rendering code schedule and bugs to minimize risks and ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Oversee and guide the rendering team to ensure quality results and efficient workflows.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to keep our rendering technology competitive.
  • Collaborate with artists to interpret creative direction and develop rendering solutions accordingly.
  • Work with the Engine Code Director to plan and implement new rendering features.
  • Implement high-quality rendering features.

Technical Requirements

  • Excellent 3D math skills.
  • Proficient in graphics with knowledge of cutting-edge rendering techniques.
  • Deep understanding of current graphics hardware, APIs, and shader programming languages.
  • Strong skills in C/C++.
  • Excellent profiling and optimization skills, with an understanding of hardware bottlenecks and solutions.
  • Experience working with the latest generation consoles (PS5 / Xbox Series X/S).

This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, combining remote and in-office work, subject to company policy and agreement with your Line Manager. WBD reserves the right to modify this arrangement as necessary.
