Job description

Lead Remedial Engineer (Marlowe Environmental Services – Hydro X)

Main Duties:

The duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Carry out inspection of the fire dampers in accordance with BS9999.
  • Install access doors into ventilation systems in accordance with DW144.
  • Install and repair passive fire stopping.
  • Install and repair fire dampers, including ductwork modifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the physical plant as instructed.
  • Follow a preventative maintenance program as instructed.
  • Make recommendations for major repairs to the physical plant.
  • Recommend the purchase of goods and equipment.
  • Maintain personal equipment and materials stocks inventories.
  • Provide written reports as required.
  • Ensure records are maintained.

All applicants are required to work within the guidance provided by BS 9999, RRO 2005 Order, DW144/145, and associated company documents to ensure plant safety, compliance, and risk mitigation.

You will also be expected to undertake any other duties related to the output of the Regional Team as required.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, with overtime including some weekend work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge:

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in:

  • Ventilation systems management in accordance with TR19.
  • Fire damper testing and issue reporting per BS9999.
  • Access door installation per DW144.
  • Passive fire stopping per The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Recognized qualification (not essential).
  • Teamwork, client service, personal administration, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, literacy, verbal and listening communication, and time management skills.
