Role Overview

The Lead Reporting Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing system and application solutions for reporting requirements, providing technical leadership within IT. The role involves aligning technology with business goals, translating business requirements into system solutions, and collaborating across domains including devops, application support, infrastructure, network, and security. The engineer acts as a Subject Matter Expert and provides guidance within IT and the wider business.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop software and data applications for regulatory, customer, and miscellaneous reporting.
  2. Manage and balance skills within the development team.
  3. Lead agile teams through planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
  4. Mentor junior developers and collaborate with various teams to build the reporting platform.
  5. Maintain system documentation and ensure adherence to technical standards.
  6. Contribute to architecture design principles.
Required Knowledge
  • Expertise in Java and SQL for reporting applications.
  • Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Batch.
  • Knowledge of data frameworks, database design, SQL, Stored Procedures, MDX, APIs.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, SSRS, PowerBI, SSAS, PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with ETL technologies like Informatica, Spring Batch, SSIS.
  • Experience managing software development teams and processes.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo.
  • Beneficial skills include C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, Docker, Kubernetes, Redhat OpenShift.
