Salary: £27,087 - £29,508 (£14.43 - £15.72ph)

Fife Resource Solutions LLP is a Fife Council company formed as an Arms Length External Organisation (ALEO) where Fife Council are a 99.99% shareholder. The ALEO was established in 2014 to provide services to Fife Council while utilising council assets to expand the provision to 3rd parties, with the aim of increasing external income to subsidise Fife Council's budget, protecting other key services operated by Fife Council from further budget reductions.

We operate: Material Recovery Facilities; an Anaerobic Digestion Plant, Aerobic composting operations, 11 household waste recycling centres, around 300 multi-material recycling points, fuel production, landfill gas recovery, combined heat & power plant, district heating, active landfill sites, closed landfill sites, leachate treatment facilities and all the associated logistics and business operations.

We employ over 200 people within Fife to undertake these activities and handle over 220,000 tonnes of waste and recyclable materials per year.

You will work as part of a team operating 11 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) across Fife. You will lead a hands on team of Recycling Centre Assistants ensuring delivery of a quality customer service, maximising segregation of waste types, Health & Safety compliance, enforcement of a vehicle access policy and commercial waste acceptance across our HWRC network. You will be responsible for ensuring that the daily site operations comply with, SEPA Waste Management Licence (WML) / Pollution Prevention Control Permit (PPC) requirements and Fife Resource Solutions Standard Operating Procedures. You will have experience of staff supervision, working with the general public, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to recycling. The post holder will be allocated a nominal HWRC base, however you will be required to travel to other locations within Fife.
