Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a passionate, highly motivated, and dynamic Clinical Trials Pharmacist to join the Research and Development Unit at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Our service is built around providing high-quality care to our patients and staff. ESNEFT holds an MS License for the manufacture of Specials and MIA (IMP) for manufacturing Investigational Medicinal Products for Clinical Trials.

This position will be based at either Ipswich Hospital or Colchester Hospital, with cross-site coverage to ensure consistent service delivery and quality.

Applicants should have experience in clinical trials, oncology, or haematology. You will be part of a dynamic team including research-focused Chief Investigators, Principal Investigators, Consultants, AHPs, pharmacy staff, and a dedicated R&D team, all striving for excellence.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work flexibly, contributing expertise to cutting-edge pharmaceutical research.

Main duties of the job
  1. Provide leadership in Specialist Clinical Trials Pharmacy Services for Oncology & Haematology and other specialties at ESNEFT.
  2. Deliver specialised clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients.
  3. Collaborate with senior R&D colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient pharmacy services.
  4. Provide expert pharmaceutical care to patients on clinical trials, ensuring KPIs are met.
  5. Focus on patient-centred activities, clinical trials, and pharmacy service management, with strong organisational skills.

Qualifications (Essential):

  • Experience working as a releasing pharmacist in an Aseptics Unit
  • Proven clinical trials experience
  • Handling high-risk medicines
  • Training and educating staff
  • Technical and clinical pharmacy skills

Experience (Desirable):

  • Budget management and drug expenditure monitoring
  • Knowledge of Primary Care
