Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Lead Planner / Planning Manager for a London-based permanent rail project. You will lead a team of 3–8 planners, coordinating across design, procurement and construction to protect the programme.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 expertise, CEMAR experience and a background in managing cost- and resource-loaded schedules in a contractor environment; NVQ or HNC in engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Significant planning experience in rail/infrastructure/civil engineering projects.
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary planning team.
• Strong governance and reporting discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning activities across the project, coordinating with design, installation, testing, handover and close-out.
• Maintain and update a cost- and resource-loaded programme and the 40,000-activity schedule.
• Prepare Clause 32 programmes, progress updates and programme narratives in line with contract requirements.
• Coordinate monthly programme reviews covering delivery, resource utilisation, cost, revenue and target cost performance.
• Manage programme communications through CEMAR and ensure timely submission of revised programmes and deliverables.
• Collaborate with design, commercial, procurement, quality and operations to assess impact on procurement and cost.
• Maintain four-week look-ahead programmes and weekly reporting, integrating site progress.
