Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Project Manager to lead rail infrastructure projects on the TRUe programme in Leeds. You will oversee delivery, safety, budget, and quality, coordinating cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure on-time, within-budget completion.

The role requires proven experience in high-profile rail projects, PTS or equivalent safety training, and strong programme planning skills. Murphy offers extensive development, pension benefits, and a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in high profile rail upgrades and bridge/structure projects.
• Safety training/qualification appropriate to works (e.g. PTS).
• Experience in project and construction management across multi-disciplinary workstreams.
• Client and stakeholder management experience.
• Awareness of project controls to monitor status and performance.
• Commercial awareness and ability to plan programs.
• HNC/HND or NVQ Level 5 (or Degree) or equivalent.
• Professional qualification or active progression toward.

Responsibilities

• Lead and be accountable for delivery of a project or portfolio of small projects within budget and schedule.
• Plan, manage and deliver works safely and to quality standards.
• Organise project team and provide guidance for professional development.
• Chair regular project meetings and ensure actions are tracked.
• Ensure change control and contract requirements are followed.
• Develop resource forecasts aligned with the programme.
• Oversee financial performance and deliver expected outcomes.
• Develop effective client and stakeholder relationships.
