Job summary

HCA Healthcare UK is seeking a Principal Physicist to lead day-to-day physics in the London Bridge Hospital radiotherapy service. You will support external beam and brachytherapy, develop new techniques, and collaborate across central London sites to enhance clinical care.

The role requires HCPC registration as a clinical scientist in radiotherapy physics, and you should be able to submit an MPE portfolio within 6–12 months. A strong leadership and QA background is essential.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as a clinical scientist in radiotherapy physics is essential.
• Able to submit an MPE portfolio within 6–12 months.
• Experience with radiotherapy techniques and QA processes is required.

Responsibilities

• Act as Medical Physics Expert (MPE) for clinical oncology teams.
• Develop and commission new equipment and techniques.
• Lead R&D projects and write commissioning reports and work instructions.
• Provide training and support to Medical Physics staff and dosimetrists.
• Manage staff rota and coordinate physics activities across the service.
