Job summary

Technical Futures Ltd in Cambridge seeks a Lead Radar Systems Design Engineer to drive hands-on radar and RF system development for cutting-edge projects. You will lead technical definitions from concept through deployment and act as the technical authority for customers.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, guide system-level decisions, and ensure architectures meet stringent performance targets while maintaining strong commercial engagement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years industrial experience in customized radar systems design and development.
• Experience with Pulse Radar, FMCW, SAR and radar imaging systems.
• Knowledge of RF propagation, RF link and level planning, RF transceiver architectures.
• Knowledge of RF/HW: RF/microwave circuit design, millimetre-wave systems.
• Strong academic background.
• Commercial awareness with ability to engage customers.
• Team leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical definition of advanced radar systems and RF architectures from concept to deployment.
• Assess RF architectures against customer requirements and make system-level decisions.

A Lead Radar Systems Design Engineer who continues to enjoy hands-on engineering projects will play a key role in developing the radar capability within a cutting edge High-Tech Company. You'll lead the development of advanced radar and RF systems, identifying new opportunities and acting as the technical authority for customers.

Key Skills and experience for this Lead Radar Systems Design Engineer role should include:

• 10+ years industrial experience in customized radar systems design and development.
• Experience working across a range of radar systems such as Pulse Radar Systems, FMCW systems, SAR and radar imaging systems, radar performance modelling.
• Knowledge of RF System design such as Radio propagation, RF link and level planning, RF transceiver architectures.
• Knowledge of RF Hardware: RF and Microwave circuit design, Millimetre-wave systems, distributed microwave techniques.
• Strong academic background.
• Commercial awareness with ability to engage well with customers.
• Team Leadership skills.

The successful Lead Radar Systems Design Engineer will lead the technical definition of advanced radar systems and RF architectures from concept through to deployment, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams. You'll define and assess Radio Frequency architectures against customer requirements as well as making critical system level decisions.
