Job summary

Guildmore Limited in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our Midlands & North team, managing commercial and contractual aspects of façade and cladding remediation projects.

You will oversee procurement, cost control, valuations, subcontractor management and ensure projects are delivered commercially and efficiently, with occasional site visits and mentorship to a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, preferably façade/cladding remediation, residential or social housing.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge including JCT contracts and variations.
• Experience managing procurement, subcontractors, valuations, CVRs and cost forecasting.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, cost reporting, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments.
• Prepare and manage client and subcontractor valuations, payments and payment notices.
• Lead procurement activities: tendering, subcontractor selection, negotiations and package awards.
• Manage variations, contractual correspondence, commercial risks and subcontractor claims.
• Prepare and maintain purchase orders, procurement schedules and contract documentation.
• Monitor project costs, identify risks and opportunities, and implement cost-control measures.
• Ensure compliance with JCT Design & Build and NEC4 where applicable.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and reports.
• Collaborate with project, design and construction teams to achieve objectives.
• Mentor junior team members as needed.
