Job summary

JPMorganChase in London seeks a Lead Software Engineer to contribute as a core technical member in Equities Technology - Prime Services, delivering trusted market-leading products in a secure, scalable way.

You will write high-quality Python for front-office systems, collaborate with Traders and QRs, and translate business needs into scalable architectures while leading engineering communities and improving operations.

Qualifications

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets and Equity Market Microstructure
Strong knowledge of electronic trading workflows across pre-trade analytics, signal generation, execution algorithms and post-trade analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Python.
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate business and quant requirements into scalable target architectures and implementation roadmaps.

Responsibilities

Write high-quality Python code for front-office Technology Systems.
Collaborate closely with Traders and Quant Researchers to deliver solutions that enhance trading and execution workflows.
Create alignment with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
Design, develop, and troubleshoot innovative software solutions to solve complex problems.
Develop secure high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness of new technologies.
Foster team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion and respect.
