Lead Quality Inspector

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Quality Inspector Non-Exempt (hourly)

DEPARTMENT: Quality

Location: 1216 4th Ave N. Kent, WA 98032

Hours: Full-time (6AM to 2:30PM, Monday thru Friday)

Open Date: Available now

Reports To: VP of Ops with guidance / support by QA Manager

Responsibilities:

• Ensure work area is safe, organized and clean
• Ensure all measurement equipment is operational and calibrated
• Approve in-coming material and components; conducting visual and measurement tests
• Audits in-process controls to conformity
• Performs 1st and last part buy-off manufacturing steps
• Approves finished goods prior to being shipped to end customer
• Documents inspection results in reports, travelers and/or quality database
• Educate production team on quality control issues

Competency requirements:

• Proficient in the use of measuring tools
• MS Office products experience
• Ability to read, write, and converse in English

Desired (can train as needed):

• 2+ years related experience within sheet metal manufacturing environment
• Experience with and working knowledge of ISO, AS standards and specifications
• Quality training certified
• Knowledge of basic statistical process control
• 5+ years related experience within a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift forty pounds without assistance on occasions
• Must be able to sit, stand and move around continuously
