Job description

Overview

We are recruiting for a highly motivated Lead Quality Inspector to join a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment specialising in high-end automotive and motorsport components. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of an inspection team, working to the highest industry standards and ensuring exceptional quality for world-class customers.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the inspection team, ensuring quality targets and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.
  • Oversee inspection processes to verify parts meet customer standards, including cosmetic checks of panels and surface finishes.
  • Attend quality meetings and collaborate with production teams to resolve customer concerns.
  • Ensure the team has the tools, resources, and support needed to perform effectively, including day-to-day HR requirements.
  • Record and communicate all non-conformances, maintaining accurate data in the internal quality management system.
  • Uphold compliance with quality management systems, processes, and industry standards.
  • Ensure measuring equipment is maintained, calibrated, and fit for use.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
Qualifications
  • Experience & Skills Required
  • Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a fast-paced or high-pressure industry.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to drive performance and meet daily targets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in cosmetic inspection of components.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Confident using common computer applications.
  • Flexible, proactive, and calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in composites or automotive environments is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Romer Arm and PowerInspect (probing and scanning) would be a distinct advantage.
  • A strong awareness of health and safety at all times.
