You have experience with various types of software and are passionate about helping to improve the quality of products you work on, through questions, curiosity and exploration. Our projects and clients are diverse, so what we really look for are people driven to develop and expand their skillset and knowledge.

What you’ll be doing...

Leading one of our client project teams you will influence and drive quality engineering activities. You will bring your extensive experience with a range of systems quality practices to deliver value to your daily work and support your colleagues on your client team. You will be expected to proactively contribute to and lead client and team delivery ceremonies and practices, such as daily stand-ups, planning, refinement and reviews.

• Proactively collaborating with client stakeholders and leading team members to develop a shared understanding of what good looks like and advocate for quality from the outset
• Mentor, coach and teach more junior team members, providing support to implement strategic approaches, perform test activities and develop their skills
• Define and lead teams to implement context specific quality strategy considering system-wide quality expectations, business value and risk and the technology architecture
• Have a detailed understanding of the role of test automation in software delivery and be confident practising and leading the implementation of frameworks, writing and understanding test code to support good test automation practices, with a willingness to learn new coding languages, paradigms and frameworks
• Manage issues/defects found during testing to support effective prioritisation, investigation and resolution
• Exceed client expectations by delivering exceptional services focused on what they feel matters most
• Build trust with client stakeholders and be able to clearly and concisely communicate test ideas, product quality risks and translate evidence in a way that is meaningful and relatable to them
• Develop an understanding of the role of functional and non-functional testing in delivering quality software products across your client and internal teams, based on your proven experience with functional and non-functional quality characteristics and considerations
• Develop a culture within your client and internal teams to challenge the status quo and continuously improve quality engineering practices and processes, with appropriate tracking and monitoring of value driven success measures
• Support the career development of more junior team members in line with the 2i QE Career Framework, business needs and their aspirations
• Engage in healthy debate and challenge facing into conflict and difficult conversations when needed
• Look out for your teammates and provide pastoral support to more junior members of the team

Specific Expertise Required...

• Working with a cloud platform setting, specifically AWS focused.
• Collaborating and partnering with DevOps Engineers/ DevOps Leads to implement Quality Engineering best practices and processes that weave through the entire testing pyramid, mapping to CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform from a Quality Engineering perspective.
