Job summary

your Jared in Bristol is seeking a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to own testing strategy for a complex, enterprise‑level platform built for a Europe‑wide IoT system. You will drive feature delivery, mentor the QA team and collaborate across multiple suppliers.

The role requires strong test principles, manual and automated testing, and experience with Selenium/Cypress, security testing, and performance testing. Flexible hours and remote options offered.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of testing principles and methodologies.
• Experience with manual and automated UI and API testing.
• Proficiency with Selenium or Cypress and related tools.
• Knowledge of security testing standards (NCSC, OWASP).
• Familiar with accessibility and SEO guidelines.
• Experience in Agile delivery teams.

About the role

We work with a wide range of clients – the Royal Navy, Honda, Orange and many other leading global brands – and an even wider range of technology.

This role is a great opportunity to get your teeth into an exciting, enterprise-level platform that we have built from scratch as part of a Europe-wide IoT system and help drive and deliver new features and functionality.

Responsibilities

We need someone with experience working with enterprise-level software and smaller-scale solutions alike and the ability to solve problems you may not have encountered before in a considered, intelligent manner.

Day to day, we’d expect you to be carrying out the below activities as part of your job:

• Leading projects


• Mentoring other members of the QA team


• Contributing to improving our ways of working and processes


• Exploring and encouraging the use of cutting-edge technology


• Feeding in to estimates for projects


• Communicating complex scenarios and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences


• Solving interesting problems of all shapes and sizes


• Working effectively in a multi-supplier environment

Requirements

We need you to be comfortable with the below:

• Have an excellent understanding of testing principles and methodologies


• Comfortable carrying out both manual and automated UI and API testing


• Using automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)


• Excellent understanding of security best practice and approaches to testing, in line with industry standards and guidelines (e.g., NCSC, OWASP)


• Good understanding of accessibility and SEO guidelines and best practice


• Good understanding of contemporary software architecture approaches


• Experience of testing within an Agile delivery team


• Performance/Load testing tools (e.g., JMeter)


• Mobile Application Testing

Bonus points if you also have specific experience with:

• Cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., Azure, AWS)


• CI/CD and Build pipelines


• Code branching & Pull requests
