Job Title:

Lead QA

Location:

Chiswick, London – Majority remote working with the requirement to go to the office on business needs.

About the role:

Due to growth, we have 3 brand new permanent QA Lead vacancies reporting into our Head of Quality Assurance. Each role will be responsible for a specific Domain.

As the Lead QA, you will be accountable for the effective planning, coordination, management, execution, and reporting of QA activities for projects, programmes, and applications. You will also ensure that systems, configurations, packages, or services, along with interfaces, perform as specified, including technical, security, and non-functional requirements. Risks associated with changes must be understood, documented, and communicated.

You will directly manage a team of QAs, providing regular feedback and leading them to achieve their potential, understanding the link between professional development and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality of all QA activities and artefacts on projects and programmes, meeting stakeholder expectations and QA CoE guidelines.
  • Manage all QA-related risks and take preventative actions when risks become unacceptable. Evaluate risks during all project stages.
  • Plan, resource, and execute all project and programme QA activities, ensuring projects have skilled QAs and are completed on time and to quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for QA process improvements and manage changes to demonstrate value to stakeholders.
  • Define strategies for effective QA, including the use of specialised testing tools and techniques, and align with stakeholders on priorities.
  • Set project-testing standards, liaise with project managers, and manage expectations for QA stages, including quality gates and corrective actions.
  • Support and develop UAT understanding and capabilities with business stakeholders.
  • Build relationships across BSI, technology teams, third-party suppliers, and business divisions to integrate QA into delivery lifecycles.
  • Ensure third-party outputs meet BSI expectations.
  • Participate in the community of practice, promoting professional standards and sharing best practices.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
  • Proven experience in QA/testing roles.
  • Software testing and test management experience.
  • People management experience, including mentoring and coaching.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and programmes.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience with enterprise applications, cloud applications, and bespoke systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, Workday, or similar programs.
