Job summary

Client Server is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in London with strong Python backend skills and leadership experience to own the technical direction of a SaaS platform. You will remain hands-on while guiding architecture, coding standards and CI/CD practices.

Hy brace hybrid work with three days in the London office and the rest remote. The role focuses on building scalable systems using FastAPI on Azure with data at scale, offering strong career progression.

Qualifications

• Lead and mentor small to medium technical teams.
• Strong Python backend software engineering skills.
• Experience building FastAPI applications.
• Good knowledge of Azure.
• Experience working with data at scale.
• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, SQL Server; Azure Databricks highly preferred).
• Solid CS fundamentals (data structures, design patterns, OOP).
• Collaborative and pragmatic with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Remain hands-on while providing technical leadership and architectural input.
• Design and implement complex solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Define technical requirements and prioritize tasks with Product Owners.
• Oversee coding standards, reviews and quality assurance practices.
• Champion CI/CD and improve development team efficiency.
