Lead PWP – Overview

Since launching in 2009, Hammersmith & Fulham has become a well-established successful NHS Talking Therapies service. We are looking to recruit a Lead PWP into an established role to offer continued support for the PWP in delivering high quality and accessible care to adults in the borough. The post attracts inner London weighting and is ideal for a PWP with significant consolidated post‑qualification experience, who has ideally held the position of Senior PWP and is keen to develop leadership skills. It is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate and develop skills in service development, line management and the development of the PWP profession.

H&F Talking Therapies offers career progression for PWPs into Band 8a roles and beyond, providing a unique opportunity for PWPs wishing to stay in the profession and advance into management and leadership positions.

Responsibilities
  • The Lead PWP will hold a small clinical caseload, provide supervision and line management to the PWP team, and share responsibility for the operational running of the service with the other Step 2 lead clinicians.
  • They will be required to work one evening session (12pm – 8pm, Monday to Thursday).
  • The role will be varied, supporting the post holder to develop assessment, treatment, supervision, line management, leadership and project management skills.
Qualifications
  • Significant consolidated post‑qualification experience as a PWP.
  • Ideal candidates will have previously held the position of Senior PWP.
  • Experience of risk management and assessment, formulation and treatment of Talking Therapies appropriate disorders within a PWP framework, alongside some supervision and line management experience.
  • Candidate must offer long‑term commitment to the role, supporting their development and providing adequate support to those they line manage and supervise.
