Job Opportunity: Principal Psychologist

An exciting new role has arisen for a dedicated Principal Psychologist to work at an exceptional mental health hospital located in Stockton-on-the-Forest, York. This position is with one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.

This medium secure psychiatric hospital cares for patients with mental illnesses and learning disabilities, including services for Autism Spectrum Disorder and female patients.

Requirements:

To be considered, you must be a qualified Psychologist registered with the HCPC.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deputise for the Lead Psychologist in their absence
2. Participate in service development
3. Manage specific team members
4. Provide clinical supervision, support, and professional development for the team
5. Conduct evidence-based psychological assessments
6. Deliver 1:1 and group interventions to patients
7. Contribute to MDT care planning and reviews
8. Support team professional development
9. Engage in audit and research activities as directed

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience working with women, preferably in a forensic mental health setting
• Specialist training in psychological models for trauma (e.g., CBT for trauma, EMDR) or other therapies
• Ability to apply psychological knowledge in a psychiatric setting

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will receive an excellent salary between £58,250 and £68,250 per annum. This is a permanent full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Benefits include:
