Cygnet Hospital Oldbury in the West Midlands is seeking a Lead Psychologist for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The post is full time (40 hours per week across five days) within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health care.

You will carry out assessments, provide individual and group therapies, develop care plans with the MDT, and supervise colleagues while contributing to service evaluation and clinical research.

Formación

• HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist with clinical forensic or mental health experience
• 2 years post-registration experience
• Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema Focused, Cognitive Analytic and DBT
• Able to work with people with a range of complex mental health needs and challenging behaviours.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups
• Collaboratively develop care plans with the MDT
• Provide training & supervision to colleagues, & consultation to teams

We need a Lead Psychologist who's passionate about helping people with a range of complex mental health needs. Joining us on a 12 month FTC, you will work on a full time, 40hrs per week basis across 5 days.

Cygnet Hospital Oldbury is our state-of-the-art PICU & Acute hospital for women, in the West Midlands.

The service has two wards, a 12 bed PICU ward and a 15 bed Acute ward. Cygnet Hospital Oldbury has a full multi-disciplinary team (MDT) and supports the acute needs of adults requiring rapid access to mental health services, including those who may need an intensive care environment.

Your Day-to-Day ...

• Work as a team Psychologist within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
• Carry out psychological assessments & provide therapy to individuals & groups
• Collaboratively develop care plans with the MDT
• Provide training & supervision to colleagues, & consultation to teams
• Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research
• Disseminate outcomes via conference presentations and publications.

We are looking for someone who is…

• A HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist with experience in a clinical forensic or mental health setting
• 2 years qualified post registration experience
• Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical and DBT
• Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
• Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending and drug & alcohol problems.
