Job description

Are you an experienced Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) seeking a step new opportunity within a well established team?

An opportunity has arisen within Oxfordshire Talking Therapies (OTT) for a Lead PWP to join our service. This role would be best suited to an experienced PWP wishing to further develop into management and leadership. We are seeking an experienced therapist with a supervision qualification and accredited LTC/PPS top up training. We are a well-established team with a great reputation for providing a full range of high-quality evidence-based treatment and interventions for patients with anxiety/depression, with and without long term physical health conditions.

We actively encourage innovation and research with opportunities for collaborations with Oxford Academic Health Science Network, University of Oxford Department of Psychiatry and Department of Experimental Psychology.

The Lead PWP’s report to the Step 2 Lead providing robust and clear leadership across localities within the OTT service and the PWP team. They will also work in consultation with the Deputy Clinical Lead and Head of Service/Clinical Lead for OTT. This role would be based in our city locality.

The Responsibilities Of The Role Include

  • Contribute to the smooth running of the service by ensuring timely access to assessment, intervention or onward referral (if required).
  • Provide management and clinical supervision to team members as agreed with the Step 2 Team Lead and operational managers and ensure all staff have access to management and clinical supervision.
  • Participate in the recruitment and induction of new staff as required.
  • Assist in establishing appropriate management systems and structures to ensure that all staff receive appropriate supervision, appraisal, training and induction

The Lead PWP will hold an important role in implementing agreed plans to address and meet commissioned targets and contribute and ensure the smooth, effective and safe provision of the day to day running of the Step 2 service. You will contribute to the delivery of Day Supervision for the PWP team on a weekly basis and will deputise in the absence of the Step 2 Lead.

The role also includes provision of case management supervision to Senior PWPs and line management supervision to Senior and/or supervising PWPs as well as holding a clinical caseload.
