The opportunity:

An excellent opportunity to join the Leonardo Finance team to help develop and deliver a programme of Finance & Digital Transformation. The Lead Project Manager for Finance & CxO Transformation will provide project management for a range of projects across Finance teams in the UK and projects in the wider Leonardo UK group. It will align with colleagues from other Geographies and manage projects that drive the enhancement of our reporting capabilities in Sustainability and ESG reporting.

The role will be part of the Central UK finance team and will need to work alongside all UK Divisions and integrate Finance transformation into wider Leonardo business change activities. The role will also support projects in the group Strategy and Capability team as well as Indirect procurement and Business Development.

Alongside a strong focus on system exploitation and process change there will be a significant element of change management. This role work alongside Functional and Divisional teams across Leonardo to build an aligned framework and the use of common tools.

This role can be based at any of our UK sites, with a mixture of site and home-based working. While envisaged as a full-time role, we are supportive, if you are looking for part time work.

What you’ll do as a Finance Transformation project manager

  • Delivery of the Finance Transformation Strategic Roadmap aligned to key programme milestones, deliverables, and evidence needs.
  • Support to define, implement and deliver a roadmap for UK Domestic Market Growth Transformation Strategies and associated Enablers.
  • Support in development and delivery of a Digital Transformation Playbook for Group functions including Indirect procurement and Business Development
  • Support the non-financial reporting team to deliver a roadmap to meet existing and emerging ESG non-financial reporting.
  • Lead multi-functional projects to help us deliver finance transformation & enhancements to ESG non-financial reporting.
  • Prepare, support and equip people to adopt and use changes to business processes, systems and technology.
  • Strong internal stakeholder engagement with all UK & Italy finance teams, other functions and Geographies and strong external facing engagement with external agencies.
  • Anticipate, mitigate and manage risks, dependencies and synergies and capitalise on opportunities within the Transformation delivery to drive increased business performance.
  • Lead and demonstrate delivery of projects and work packages, to achieve / better the financial targets.
  • Supporting and facilitating business governance processes ensuring appropriate application and monitoring effectiveness.
  • Proactively monitor cost, schedule & technical progress and lead the team effectively through planning, allocation and reporting of work to ensure successful delivery of the project and its objectives.
  • Establish existing and required performance, introducing appropriate Key Performance Indicators and regularly monitoring and reporting progress.
  • Other projects as assigned across the wider Finance and Leonardo UK community

What we need from you:

You really must have:

  • A passion to deliver change & transformation.
  • Experience delivering change programmes including effective change management and experience of defining and measuring success metrics and monitoring the change process
  • Experience in project management delivery including risk, budget, resource and change management.
  • Pro-active and motivated, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency and with a focus on achieving high performance against objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work autonomously
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think laterally
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Excellent communication skills demonstrated across UK and Transnationally

It would be nice if you had:

  • Typically, degree qualified in a business or finance discipline.
  • Change management certification or designation desired, but not essential
  • Experience of working as part of a Transformation team
  • Experience in delivering standardized processes across an orgnisation
  • Experience in managing third party suppliers/consultants to bring in best practice
