Reporting into the Praetorian Programme Manager for Test Equipment, Support & Cooling Integrated Project Teams (IPT)
The opportunity:
We have great opportunities in Project Management for managing a number of Major Development and Production Programmes within the Praetorian Programmes Business Area.
The Praetorian IPTs include high-value customer contracts over several years, making this a highly visible and exciting role within the business area. It plays an important part in contributing to our business success.
What you will do as a Lead Project Manager:
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with multiple stakeholders in the UK, Europe, Middle East, and internal business departments.
- Ensure project strategies align with the overall programme strategy.
- Manage outsourcing and internal development projects.
- Coordinate production estimates with relevant functions.
- Generate and present metric reports to the Purchaser during monthly reviews.
- Create and present a SAP monthly CSR to the business.
- Provide accurate estimates for proposed work with sufficient contingency.
- Own the project budget, monitor expenditures and costs throughout the financial year.
- Serve as the point of contact for the Purchaser, Customer, and Workshare Partners.
What we need from you:
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Manage and oversee Development or Production Projects.
- Ensure schedule, cost, and quality adherence.
- Manage project risks and opportunities.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Report internally to IPT Lead and/or Sector VP.
- Provide monthly reports to the customer.
- Monitor and manage project bookings.
Qualification/Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- APM PMQ qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and project financial management.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, procurement, quality, planning, manufacturing, and operations.
- Technical insight into project management for development roles.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively to deadlines.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders, create project plans, and manage schedules and earned value.
- Strong customer and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Excellent collaboration skills across various internal and external groups.
- Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and high performance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and P6.
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Knowledge and Competencies:
- Knowledge of Praetorian products and groups for development roles.
- Experience working with BAES, European partners, and UK MoD.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
