Salary: £66,100 - £99,100 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
We are looking for Lead Project Managers to join our SSEN Transmission Delivery Team to deliver our High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects. Reporting into the Deputy Project Director, you will be responsible for the delivery of multiple civils, HVDC Converter building, and AC substation packages at one of our onshore sites.
The Lead Project Manager is a senior role in our Delivery team, where you will play an important part in enabling the energy transition and supporting the Scottish and UK Government's Net Zero ambitions. This includes managing a multi-disciplinary project team and framework supply chain partners under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework.
- Be accountable for delivering a £500m+ civil, building, and substation packages as part of the HVDC project, managing a team of Project and Senior Project Managers, and working with external contractors and consultants. Experience in a similar delivery environment is required.
- Collaborate with the Transmission Management team to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements throughout project execution.
- Manage NEC3 contracts for your packages, including interface management and change control, providing strong commercial leadership.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and communities to support project delivery.
- Provide site-based leadership during the delivery phase.
- Experience leading large infrastructure projects of £100m+ through execution. Prior energy infrastructure project delivery is preferred but not essential.
- Strong NEC3 contract negotiation and administration skills, and ability to handle complex contractual matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an understanding of project management systems and governance for large projects.
- An engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience. Membership or registration in Project Management or Engineering is preferred.
- Experience in pre-construction project delivery, planning to de-risk execution, and delivering safely, on time, and within budget.
