Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel seeks a Lead Project Engineer for a major transmission infrastructure project in the UK. You will chair engineering meetings, drive design maturity, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery on time and to the required quality.

You will manage design changes, risk reviews, and gate documentation, escalating issues to senior engineers and supporting PARs with key documentation.

Responsibilities

• Chair regular engineering meetings to drive design across disciplines.
• Chair regular engineering risk meetings to identify and manage risks and opportunities.
• Drive design maturity and timely delivery to quality and programme milestones.
• Ensure compliance with specifications and policies; resolve deviations via formal process.
• Manage design changes and prepare relevant change-control documentation.
• Coordinate disciplines to complete engineering deliverables at gates.
• Coordinate WI information gathering for Works Information packages.
• Manage the Technical Query (TQ) register during delivery.
• Coordinate contractor deliverables review and sign-off.
• Prepare gate documentation including the DRMIs and Design Authority Report.
• Escalate issues to Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers.
• Support Project Assurance Reviews by submitting documentation and responding to feedback.

Lead Project Engineer for a major transmission infrastucture project in The UK

Responsibilities

• Chairing of regular engineering meetings to drive design and supporting collaboration between engineering disciplines.
• Chairing of regular engineering risk meetings to identify and manage engineering and quality risks and opportunities.
• Drive design maturity and delivery of scope to required quality and programme, including input to programme.
• Ensure compliance with relevant specifications & policies; where compliance is not possible, support resolution of the issue through Deviation from Specification process.
• Management of design changes in line with change control process and preparation of relevant forms and documentation, as required.
• Coordinate disciplines to complete various engineering deliverables at relevant gates.
• Coordinate information gathering for Works Information (WI) packages.
• Manage the Technical Query (TQ) register for engineering during delivery.
• Coordinate and see that all contractor deliverables are reviewed and signed off.
• Preparation of key gate documentation including the Design Management Plan, Design Risk Management Index (DRMI), and Design Authority Report
• Escalation to Senior Engineers and Engineering Managers for engineering decisions and risks
• Support Project Assurance Reviews (PAR) by submitting key documentation and responding to feedback
