An innovative engineering firm is seeking experienced Programme Planners to enhance their planning capacity for battery-electric systems. The role involves developing project schedules, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and is open for a 12-month contract inside IR35 at competitive daily rates. Successful candidates will enjoy substantial influence from early programme stages and will be working on-site regularly in Oxfordshire.

Qualifications

  • Experience in physical product development (rail, aerospace, defence, EV, automotive).
  • Understanding of V-lifecycle model and engineering milestones.
  • Comfortable on-site 3 days/week in Oxfordshire.

Responsibilities

An innovative engineering business is delivering cutting-edge battery-electric systems. With two active R&D programmes underway, they’re looking for experienced Programme Planners to support their planning and delivery capability.

  • One programme is well into development with 250+ engineers and four structured workstreams.
  • The second is in early mobilisation phase — a rare opportunity to influence planning foundations from day one.

The role involves:

  • Developing and managing integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Coordinating timelines across hardware, systems and electrical engineering teams
  • Identifying delivery risks and helping to shape recovery or reforecasting plans
  • Supporting project managers with accurate planning inputs and stakeholder reporting
  • Working closely with supply chain, prototyping and testing teams

What they’re looking for:

  • Planning experience in physical product development (e.g. rail, aerospace, defence, EV, automotive)
  • Confidence working across the V-lifecycle model and understanding of key engineering milestones
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Comfortable being on-site 3 days per week in Oxfordshire

Toolset:

  • Primavera P6 or MS Project (essential)
  • Excel; Jira/Confluence (for hybrid workstreams)

Details:

12 month contract

Inside IR35 via Umbrella £350-450 per day subject to experience
