Barts Health has an opportunity for a driven and experienced individual within their state of the art oncology pharmacy department. This post offers an individual the opportunity to lead and develop a well-established production team delivering a variety of complex services to patients across the trust.
There are a number of exciting developments on the horizon in this ever evolving speciality, including the implementation of a new worksheet generation system and development of a dedicated gene therapy unit.
With vast numbers of Cancer NICE TAs issued in the last 2 years, this is a rapidly changing service and this role offers the opportunity to provide access to these life changing medications rapidly whilst ensuring they are delivered safely to patients and ensuring that this service is equipped to meet the future demands required of it.
The position is based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital but you will also visit other sites within Barts Health.
The CSU Team is well established within Barts Cancer Centre and we provide inpatient, outpatient and daycase SACT services in both the clinical trial and standard of care setting. This important role requires someone who can demonstrate excellent leadership and organisational skills, can communicate effectively across all levels, and has the ability to prioritise and independently manage their own workload. You will also be highly motivated, enthusiastic to promote new ideas, determined to succeed in a challenging environment, have the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to future developments in aseptic services.
Working in an MHRA licensed Chemotherapy Production facility, the purpose of this post will lead the operational management for the service whilst continuously developing and improving the service to meet the changing needs of our patients and the regulations governing production.
