Artificial Societies is seeking a Lead Product Engineer in London to own features end-to-end, from concept to a polished, scalable product used by clients daily. You will shape the architectural direction, work with the CTO and design team, and partner with forward-deployed and research engineers to convert frontier capabilities into reliable features.
You will care about feature feel, latency, database schemas, API contracts, and the overall product experience.
Artificial Societies (societies.ai ) helps Fortune 500 organisations understand how real-world audiences think, feel, and respond, without the cost, delay, or limitations of traditional research. We build large-scale simulated populations grounded in real-world data, enabling clients to test messages, strategies, and concepts. Our clients love the ability to receive insights backed by millions of responses in hours rather than months, and to access previously inaccessible audiences (e.g. investors, CEOs, opinion leaders).
We're backed by Y Combinator, Point72 Ventures, and Kindred Capital, plus investors from DeepMind and Sequoia Scout, and work with leading organisations across technology, financial services, communications, and public affairs.
We're a lean and highly effective team. We move fast, hold a high bar, and trust each other to own outcomes end-to-end. The culture is collaborative but low-ego: ideas win on merit, not seniority.
We're looking for a Lead Product Engineer to own features end to end, from a rough idea to a polished, reliable feature that our clients use every day, and to set the technical bar for how our product gets built. You'll work directly with our designer and our CTO, and partner closely with our forward-deployed and research engineers to turn the frontier of what our simulation engine can do into a product people love.
This is a role for someone with both great taste and deep technical skill. You care about how a feature feels, the latency, the empty states, the small interactions that make a product feel great and you care about the database schema, the API contract, and the architecture that keeps it fast and reliable at scale. You sweat both.
This is a senior role with real ownership. You'll make the architectural decisions that shape the product for years, and as the engineering team grows, you'll set the standard that everyone else builds to: in system design, in code review, in what ships.
This is a rare chance to own the product that puts frontier AI in the hands of the world's most important organisations. You'll work directly with our designer and CTO, ship features that Fortune 500 firms rely on, and own the technical direction of how the product is built. If you want the ownership of an early team, the craft of a product you're proud of, and the technical depth to build it properly, this is the role.
