This position would be based around AtkinsRéalis process engineering hubs of central Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Bellshill offices), Bristol or Stockton, with a flexible mixture of home-working and office collaboration time expected. We also welcome applicants wishing to work part-time.

Your purpose:

Are you an experienced process engineer who thrives on guiding others? Are you drawn to exciting projects and motivated by the opportunity to provide leadership and guidance to process engineering teams?

As a Lead Process Engineer in our Net Zero Energy Business, we are looking for someone versatile; you could be working on several small projects or overseeing several process engineers to deliver a multi-discipline project.

The role may include:

  1. Executing and steering technical delivery of projects (process engineering scope).
  2. Collaborating with other disciplines on design projects.
  3. Managing client relationships.
  4. Providing quality technical advice to customers and internal teams.
  5. Overseeing and coaching juniors (delegating tasks and checking calculations and deliverables).

What you can bring?

You will enjoy heading up process teams with a client-focused approach. You will have the drive to improve our capabilities and deliverables. You will be able to effectively delegate tasks and quality check the technical calculations and reports of others. You will have a strong awareness of the commercial aspects to project delivery such as project timescales and change control.

You will enjoy working at various levels of process design, from concept studies and front-end engineering to detailed design. You will be experienced in front end engineering delivery (FEED) and have a drive to continually improve our methods and standards.

Desirable experience and attributes include:

  1. Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar.
  2. Experience of delivering process engineering projects (Pre-FEED, FEED or EPC) within a highly regulated industry.
  3. Chartered member of the IChemE is preferable.
