Job summary

Thornton Legal in Liverpool seeks an experienced Private Client lawyer to take over an established practice generating substantial annual fees. You will lead wills, probate, trusts, and related matters while guiding a head of department through a planned transition toward retirement.

There is a focus on growing the firm’s Private Client presence in Liverpool, with flexibility around hybrid working and regular office presence due to leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Highly experienced Private Client lawyer with broad expertise across wills, probate, estate administration and related private client matters.
• Ability to take responsibility for a department and lead through transition.
• Willingness to develop and grow the firm’s Private Client presence in Liverpool.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for an established Private Client practice.
• Handle a varied caseload including wills, probate, estate administration, trusts, tax planning and LPAs.
• Work alongside the existing head of department during a planned transition toward retirement.
• Influence future direction and development of the department.
• Help develop the firm's Private Client presence in Liverpool.
• Contribute to business development and growth of the practice.
