Job summary

Sodexo Group operates the catering service at HMP Altcourse in Liverpool, where a Chef supervises prisoners in producing 1200+ meals daily. You will ensure strict food safety, hygiene, allergen awareness, and oversee cleaning, rotation of stock, and health and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes rehabilitation support and creating a positive environment, with opportunities to contribute to prisoners' development within a modern catering team.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ Level 1/2 in food production and cooking.
• Industrial catering experience is desirable.
• Experience instructing/supporting people with challenging behaviour.
• Experience in prison or forces environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach prisoners in producing 1200+ meals daily.
• Ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Oversee cleaning procedures and stock rotation.
• Adhere to Health & Safety procedures and rehabilitation-oriented goals.
