Job summary

Ridge & Partners Llp in Leeds is seeking an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead projects, strengthen client relationships, and guide the growth of the structural engineering team. The role combines technical leadership with business development and financial oversight.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, supervise technical work, and ensure compliance with Eurocodes while delivering high-quality, timely solutions across residential, healthcare and education sectors.

Qualifications

Extensive structural design & investigation experience across core materials.
Proven track record in project leadership and client management.
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal).
Chartered or near chartership status preferred (MIStructE or MICE).
Proficiency with structural design software (SCIA, Tekla, TEDDS or similar).
UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

Act as primary point of contact for key clients, maintaining strong relationships.
Lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, to quality standards.
Oversee structural investigations, surveys, defect diagnosis and technical reporting.
Monitor construction sites and respond to technical queries to preserve design intent and compliance.
Support business development through bid participation, proposals and fee negotiations.
