Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Lead Piping Engineer for a 12-month contract in Aberdeen. This hybrid role requires 3 days in the office and involves overseeing the design process within an offshore project environment. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in piping design and engineering, along with a Mechanical Engineering Degree and familiarity with industry standards. This role offers the chance to engage in collaborative work across various disciplines.

Qualifications

• Plant Layout, Piping Design and Piping Engineering experience within an EPC/EPCm environment.
• Extensive Offshore experience.
• Commercial awareness within professional services environment.
• Knowledge of UK, European and ASME/ASTM international standards.
• Experience in a lead position on Petrochem and/or Pharmaceutical EPC/EPCm projects.
• Piping Materials expertise in Piping Specifications and Valves.
• Working knowledge of E3D/PDMS.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Department Manager on required personnel for project maintenance.
• Monitor and control manhour budgets.
• Review vendor bids for technical acceptability.
• Provide technical assistance to the design team.
• Maintain supervision to encourage empowerment in project design.
• Work in a multi-discipline team across locations.

Airswift have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Piping Engineer to join one of our clients on a 12 month + contract. This is a Hybrid role with a requirement to be in the Aberdeen office 3 days a week.

The Lead Piping Engineer is assigned to a project as an integral member of the project design team and is responsible for the technical and commercial execution of the design and requisitioning in accordance with the control estimate and specific requirements of the project schedule.

Role & Responsibilities

• To advise the Department Manager of required personnel necessary to maintain the project plan for assigned project.
• To monitor and control manhour budgets against the project plan.
• Review of vendor bids and documentation are for technical acceptability.
• To give any necessary technical assistance to other members of the design team.
• To ensure a level of supervision is maintained that encourages empowerment and provides a flexible, responsive approach to the design, procurement and construction of the plant.
• Must be able to work in a multi-Discipline team across different locations and engage in collaborative behaviour that ensures the success of all Disciplines and the Project as a whole.
